Lately I've found myself gravitating towards anything and everything Mexican/Navajo/Spanish inspired... blame it on my SA roots. Here are a few of my favorite finds and inspiration pics reflecting one of my favorite trends:

MARY KATE STEINMILLER

Not only is Mary Kate Steinmiller one of the kindest, most enthusiastic and talented editors in fashion- she also has a sense of style to die for. Her effortless mix of lady-like elegance with fun touches of whimsy make this Teen Vogue tastemaker one of my favorite to watch in the business. Can't wait to see what she will be wearing this fashion week. Here are a few of my favorite looks from MK:

THE COVETED (err THE COVETEUR)

THIS IS THE BEST NEW WEBSITE. Take a peek into the closets (and lives) of your favorite editors, designers, stylists and creative directors at thecoveted.com. UPDATE: Due to a little legal snafu with the-coveted.com (a well-loved personal style blog), thecoveted has changed its name to thecoveteur.com as of Feb 2nd.

Online Shopping Directory

I'm an online shopping expert. I'm serious. Here's a directory of my favorite online fashion sites. Interiors/Home Furnishings directory to come later. Most of them you've probably heard of but hopefully there will be some you have yet to explore.

Zoe- Brands like Phillip Lim, A.Wang and the like dominate the inventory at Zoe

FarFetch- A new site offering a fun, unique experience that allows customers to buy the best fashion from hundreds of boutiques around the world. Find Vintage Alaia, Maje, Marni and everything in between at this destination.

Otte- One of my favorite nyc boutiques, this site offers brands like Rachel Comey, Porter Grey and L'Agence.

LaGarconne- My Favorite. The best of everything
(not including net-a-porter, which is the best of the best)

Pixie Market- Fantastic price point, super trendy clothes & accessories

Nasty Gal- MinkPink, BBDakota, a well edited selection of new & vintage clothes & accessories

Opening Ceremony- Everything from Rodarte to Karen Walker Sunnies. The most well curated collection of high fashion, up and coming designers and unique collaborations.

MyTheresa- Miu Miu, Acne, Isabel Marant, & Paul and Joe to name a few

Kirna Zabete- Proenza PS1's to Stella, this site always delivers

Luisa Via Roma- Runway fashion straight to you. Designers include Jil Sander, Celine, Rick Owens, See by Chloe and JBrand

Bird- online outpost of one of my favorite nyc boutiques. Well stocked with Phillip Lim.

Ssense- A well edited site offering Iro, Linda Farrow sunnies and Vanessa Bruno

Edit New York - This relatively new site carries Sachin & Babi, Thakoon, Derek Lam and more.

Oak NYC- A fantastic place to get edgy, fashion forward basics and accessories. The store brand's signature high waisted skinny jeans are among the best I've ever tried.

Charm and Chain- the best place to find jewelry online.

SPRING

With 18 inches of snow falling outside, all I can think of are bright florals, 70's camels and light silky tops, hot pink lips, tissue thin tees, high wasted shorts and minimal sandals.

(from left: Jil Sander 9, Proenza 36, Phillip Lim 8, Stella 31 (resort'11), Erdem 11, Erdem 29, Chloe 21, The Row 8-- all SS11, from Style.com)

Sally Singer on Fashion

I'm just a little obsessed with this video Q&A on "Why Fashion Still Matters" with Vogue's Sally Singer. I don't even remember how I came to this link but I ended up watching the entire hour long conversation. I've always admired Sally through her work at Vogue and I admire her even more after hearing her discuss this crazy fashion industry so many of us love and so many others find vapid or excessive or vain.... She discusses her private life as a mother (living in the Chelsea Hotel- amazing- see pics below), how she landed at Vogue, what its like working for Anna, why misfits so often end up working in fashion and so much more. The entire hour is interesting, informative and basically awesome.

And here are some pics (taken by photog Todd Selby) from a story Fashionologie did on said amazing Chelsea Hotel apartment. Made me die a little, so great.

Click here to see the entire story at Fashionologie.
